Abstract for this Week
"Foundations of Topology: Introversion with Capstone.", Stephen E. Rodabaugh (YSU)
" This colloquium overviews research done by Professor Rodabaugh in his 2005-2006 sabbatical year. This research deals with a variety of topics from the foundations of topology and related areas: categorical redundancy of certain topological sub-disciplines; algebraic theories, power-set theories, topological theories and their relationship to predicate transformers and liftings of multi-relations in programming semantics; the impact of lattice-valued frames and topological systems from semantic domains on the axioms of topology; and the overall place of anti-stratified topological spaces. Apart from surprising results in each of the projects of this sabbatical, perhaps the most surprising aspect of this sabbatical research is that these projects, ordered by when they were done and/or started, unexpectedly form an introversion with a new project as the capstone.
